Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account information: your display name, email address, and a securely hashed password (or the provider ID if you sign in with Google or Apple).
• Your writing: the contents of any session you save, plus its mode, word count, and timestamps.
• Newsletter preference: whether you opted in to the Sakura letter.
• Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) used to keep the service running and secure.

2. What we do with it

• Sign you in and show you your own saved sessions.
• Send you the newsletter, only if you opted in.
• Send essential account emails (password resets, important service notices).
• Keep the service running, debug issues, and prevent abuse.

We do not read your writing. We do not share or sell it. We do not use it to train AI models, now or in the future.

3. Who can see your writing

Only you. Your saved sessions are protected by row-level security so they are only visible when you are signed in to your account. Sakura staff do not browse user writing.

4. Service providers

We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers to host the app, the database, and to send transactional email. They process data on our behalf under their own security commitments, and only to the extent needed to run the service.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (like your calm sound choice). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Your rights

You can view, export, or delete any individual session from My Writing. You can delete your entire account from your profile, which removes your saved sessions and account record. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal data, contact us and we will help.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and saved sessions for as long as your account is active. When you delete a session it is removed. When you delete your account, your account record and saved sessions are removed. Backups roll off on a regular schedule.

8. Children

Sakura is not intended for children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Please do not create an account if you are under that age.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will revise the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email where appropriate.
